BSL 2026  British Slotracing League

CASTLE RACRWAY BSL - 14 JUN 26

The first round of this year's BSL series at Castle Raceway saw the introduction of brushless motors in both scales. Some had suggested this may help attract more participants. This was not really the case for this round but most importantly all taking part enjoyed a good day of racing.

1/32nd racing was dominated by Martin Ellis using a Super Production who won the A Final by 4 laps from Steve Mutimer using Martin's brushless Genesis. The other Super Production in the field was actually a lap up on Steve M & Ant Hawkes after a few laps but unfortunately while another car was being marshalled this one was knocked out of the slot into another lane resulting in a heavy walling of my car!  Trevor Leeming was showing considerable improvement from last season & clearly enjoying driving his brushless Genesis to win the B final from son Shane.

In 1/24th everyone opted to run the brushless DoSlot 4000kv motors. Concern had been expressed prior to the series that a fixed gear ratio was required for these but having a free choice of gearing did not cause any problems for racers at this 1st round so hopefully the formula is going to be fine but time will tell. Not unexpectedly the top 2 individual drivers took victory in the team race as the Bolton team but local teams 41's & ALM put on a good display to take 2nd & 3rd.

Thanks to the Castle club for putting on a very hospitable event as ever.

The next round is on 12 July at Pontefract when we hope to see plenty racers participating.
