Sunday’s racing was for the club team championship. The 3 hour race was for teams
of four drivers with one car, so each driver gets two 22½ minute runs. The club
team championship was open to Group 12 powered cars with free choice of chassis.
This year we ran a separate Clubman Team Race class for teams of 3 or 4 clubman
drivers and maximum of 1 main grade driver with an INTRO 32 car.
Repairs and maintenance
have to be done in race time, so reliably and quick pit work are important. Teams
are allowed a spare motor. However as motor changes had to be done in race time,
teams can loose more laps changing to a fresh motor than they’d loose by persisting
with the tired slowing one

National Club Team Champions
The team of Marc Lyons, Barry Gilzean, Nick Thrower and Ray George held second place for much of the race, taking the lead in the final segment to win by 2 laps. They had a reasonably clean run and ran the whole race on one set of tyres. They did have a pit stop to repair accident damage in the 7th segment. The body damage can be seen in the photo

Second
The team of Chris Aldridge, Keith Packer, Graham and Ben Woodward held the lead for much of the race. Their group 12 motor slowed very noticeably towards the end of the race.
Norwich
Clubman Team Race class winners
The team of Steve Pratt, Richard Beamish, Andy Taylor and Ralph West were the first team running an INTRO 32 car,.
They ran in 3rd place with largely clean run except for a long pit stop for a tyre change.
Luton 238
The team of Chris Frost, Bob Hallums, Brian Church and Sophie Lyons were the second team running a brushless INTRO 32 car. They weren’t eligible for the trophies, but finished 4th on the road.
Sophie, the only clubracer grade driver in the team, did their fastest run.
They had a fairly trouble free run to finish 10 laps behind Norwich
Rockingham
The team of Mike Thomson, Steve Taylor, David Farrow and Bob Budge were the third eligible club team, fifth on the road.
Their group 12 motor was giving trouble from early in the race. Not the sort of thing that’s easy to diagnose during a race, they thought it might be a sticking brush. Also they needed a gear change in the 7th segment.
